Our team of local tree stump grinders have served the Rensselaer County area for many years. We offer a high-quality service at an affordable price for residential and commercial clients of all sizes. The trees that are growing on your property serve to provide shade, fresh air, and a beautiful look for your yard, until they don’t. When that time comes and a tree is taken down, Stump Wrecker will be ready to help you grind / remove the unwanted stump.
Being local arborists we are more than happy to stop by for a free no hassle, detailed estimate on stump grinding and removal. Our first step is to analyze the property by taking a close look at each tree stump to determine size, potential depth, and what your intentions are for the area. We start the project by taking necessary safety precautions, moving the equipment into position and grinding the tree stump down below the ground surface. As the machine runs, sharp, rotating blades cut through the wood, leaving much smaller pieces. After the process is complete, you are left with a rake clean finish, the area filled with a dirt and wood chip mixture so a hole will not be left in your yard . One option is to fill the hole with soil so that it is even with the level of the yard. Another option is for our service providers to remove the wood chips on your behalf. Either way, the hole will need to be filled in for safety reasons and the wood chips can be used as mulch.
Experienced – Our company has a ton of experience, and we are fantastic at what we do. That is what happens when you have worked in an industry for as long as we have. Stump grinding is a dangerous job, so it’s critical to pick a tree service that knows what they are doing.
License & Insured – The licensing and insurance that we carry is meant to keep everyone safe, especially you, as the property owner. Whether you are a homeowner or a business owner, you are protected from liability if an accident occurs. We follow strict safety protocols and take our staff training very seriously. This ensures that our team completes each project with the utmost safety in mind.
Reputation – After serving the Capital Region of New York for so many years, we have built up a loyal customer base that constantly refer us to friends and family. Our clients know that they can count on us for quality, timely services whenever they need us. Just take a look at our social media and you’ll see why we’re consistently voted one of the best at what we do.
Great Pricing – There is nothing worse than being over charged for poor service. Luckily, that won’t happen if you call us. We believe in providing fair, honest pricing upfront. When meeting with a member of our team, you can expect a free, comprehensive estimate and a smile. No pressure, no hassles.
Stumps are ugly – The aesthetic appeal of your home is important. Not only does it affect how people perceive you, but it also affects the home value. When you remove a tree or two and have obtrusive tree stumps sitting in your yard, people notice, and not in a good way. It is an eyesore that you do not want to have. No one ever looked at an old stump and said, “Wow, that looks great!”
Safety is a concern – Although their sizing may vary, tree stumps left in the yard can be a big safety problem. They pose a tripping risk for anyone nearby, whether it’s a child, a neighbor, or a friend. In the worst-case scenario, you may have a potential lawsuit on your hands. (We saw that one time!)
Avoid Insects & Fungi – When a tree is cut down and the stump begins to decay, insects start arriving in droves. In addition, fungi start growing on and around the wood surface. Bugs can create a significant pest control problem because the most common pests are wood-boring carpenter ants and beetles. With your home close by, it is not worth the risk of an infestation. Even worse is the fungi, which can cause airborne diseases in both humans and pets. Spare the neighborhood children, cats, and dogs from the dangerous chemicals and spores given off by the growth of fungi.
Tree Regrowth – If stumps are not ground or taken out completely, trees and bushes may begin to grow again from the wood surface as it decays. You will experience unsightly tree regrowth and the addition of small bushes and shrubs surrounding the stump unless you remove it once and for all.
